Fertility Acupuncture Melbourne

Already pregnant?

Trying to conceive?

We see people in the clinic every day who are trying to conceive and have unexplained infertility.  We understand that it can be a tough time.

Most of the women or couples we see are between 35 and 45. Some have specific fertility challenges.

There is some research evidence that Chinese medicine treatment may assist in supporting specific fertility treatments, such as IVF, and there is also broad agreement by Chinese medicine practitioners and other health practitioners about acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for IVF. So please take heart if you’re in this boat. You have many options. Regardless of what some fertility experts may tell you. Come and have a chat to us and we can help you navigate this maze..

IVF Support Package

If your IVF cycle is a few weeks away;

6 weekly Express Acupuncture sessions (usually 2 sessions prior to IVF, 4 in the IVF cycle month, once per week).

The pre pick-up/ transfer sessions can help to improve uterine lining, your eggs (if a harvest cycle) and calm your nerves.

An acupuncture session on the day of your embryo transfer is recommended. Research indicates Acupuncture may improve the IVF outcome possibly by decreasing blood flow impedance and increasing the uterine blood flow (16), inhibiting uterine motility (17), reducing depression, anxiety, and stress (18, 19), and modulating the immune factors, especially cytokines (20).

Some research suggests that acupuncture before and after embryo transfer may improve implantation rates but studies have not been conclusive.  However, acupuncture is a low risk therapy, and is surprisingly relaxing. So if you can afford it, it may well be worth doing.

$240 (health insurance rebates available)
